Those Greek Gods are Hilarious

I started reading the Iliad (finally), which I am supposed to complete by next Wednesday (!) for Reed Orientation. Here are my current notes:
- Homer really thinks war is pretty glorious, huh?
- The Greek gods are hilarious. Why do they care about the mortals so much? And man, they are sluts. So many half-mortal offspring. How do Gods even procreate with mortals?
- Why is it that I identify the most with Paris (of Troy)? The nymphomaniac "wimp" that just wants to cuddle his lady instead of kill people. Everyone else seems to look down on him so. I mean, sure, maybe he started a 10 year war but he's not the one still trying to fight it after 9 years.
