Leaving camp by 8AM and cruising down all the hills we'd climbed the day before, Theo and I managed to average incredibly high speeds all morning, and somehow finding our way back to Portland by the early afternoon, beating the heat. I took a very needed shower and then curled up in the hammock with "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" (refreshing my memory as the film version comes out next week), but that turned into a nap. Once I'd woken up, Theo joined me for a feast of tacos followed by reading in the dome.
A pretty awesome birthday weekend, all and all.

Early birthday presents have made Persephone a dashing lass.
Those amazing fenders are a sweet birthday present from Theo, I believe originating at Velo Orange/
The handlebar bag/shoulder bag (which folder over, seen in the open position here) is from Boneshaker Bags on Etsy. My mom somehow manages to hunt down the coolest handmade gifts. I'm really excited about putting my camera in this bag for Seattle to Portland.
